The self-propelled articulated vertical mast lift is a compact aerial work platform designed for safe, efficient, and precise access to elevated work areas in confined spaces. This lift combines a vertical telescopic mast with an articulated boom, allowing for both vertical lifting and horizontal extension, making it particularly suitable for tasks requiring overcoming obstacles or positioning operators close to walls, ceilings, or equipment.
Articulated vertical mast lifts typically feature a narrow chassis design, usually between 0.9 and 1.2 meters wide, enabling them to pass through standard doorways and operate in narrow aisles. Working heights typically range from 6 to 10 meters, with platform heights of approximately 4 to 8 meters. The articulated boom usually provides a horizontal reach of 3 meters, significantly extending the machine's working range compared to standard vertical lifts. Platform load capacity is typically 200 to 230 kg, sufficient for one or two operators plus tools and materials. The lift offers a 345° rotation angle and a 130° vertical movement angle, greatly increasing the working radius.
Most vertical mast lift models utilize a battery-powered electric system, typically using 24V or 12V DC motors, and equipped with maintenance-free lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries. This configuration ensures quiet, zero-emission operation and extended indoor use. The self-propelled drive system allows for movement on the ground and at height, with a travel speed of approximately 3-4 km/h in the stowed position, and a reduced speed when elevated for safety. Non-marking solid tires and a small turning radius enhance maneuverability and protect floor surfaces.
Safety and control systems are integral to the self-propelled vertical mast lift. Proportional joystick controls provide smooth and precise control of lifting, driving, and boom functions. Standard safety features include tilt sensors, overload protection, emergency stop buttons, manual emergency lowering, and automatic braking. The equipment is also equipped with an anti-crush system and pothole protection to improve stability on uneven surfaces.
